All Instructors at the NSAE are rigorously trained by Craig Stevens and approved to teach classical equitation. Students may work with Craig himself, with a permanent staff member, or with senior working students studying to become professionals.

We follow a very clear and specific method to teach equitation, based in Craig's 40 years of experience instructing riding and in the millenia of theory and practice that he's studied through the old literature.

Whether you are a true beginner or an advanced rider, y ou can ask your instructor anything-- from how to mount your horse with dignity to what the difference is between timothy hay and alfalfa, and why we feed what we do to the horses.

Our instructors have a great connection with their horses and they share an ability to communicate clearly to their students. Classes are fun, and we enjoy a barn where everyone is learning, staff and students alike, and everyone has something to contribute.
